South American Steer Export Index Rises Four Weeks Straight to 7-Week High

Average dollar prices for slaughter steers in the Southern Common Market (Mercosur) rose for the fourth consecutive week, hitting a nearly seven-week high since mid-June. The WBR Mercosur Steer Index gained 7 cents week-on-week to USD 4.84 per kg carcass weight, with a cumulative rebound of 17 cents over the past four weeks. Reference dollar prices across the four member countries — Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay — all moved higher in tandem.

Brazil: Average prices for finished steers in major livestock-producing states rose 9 cents week-on-week to USD 4.30 per kg carcass weight, driven by both increases in local currency terms and a stronger Brazilian real against the US dollar.

Argentina: Local currency reference prices for export steers were flat, but a 0.3% appreciation of the Argentine peso lifted the dollar-denominated price slightly by 1 cent to USD 5.69 per kg carcass weight.

Uruguay: Remained the region’s price high, with premium export steers quoted at USD 5.85 per kg carcass weight, up 0.2% week-on-week, consolidating at elevated levels.

Paraguay: Posted a strong upward momentum, with traded prices for slaughter steers in the range of USD 5.20–5.25 per kg carcass weight.

阿根廷：出口公牛本币参考价持平，但比索升值0.3%推高美元计价，参考价微涨1美分至5.69美元/公斤胴体。

乌拉圭：继续坐稳区域价格高地，特级出口公牛报5.85美元/公斤胴体，周环比+0.2%，高位巩固态势明确。

巴拉圭：上行势头偏强，屠宰公牛成交价报5.20—5.25美元/公斤胴体区间。
