On August 20, 2024, the General Administration of Customs updated the "List of Countries or Regions Meeting Assessment and Review Requirements for Exporting Meat Products to China," adding six U.S. pork companies whose meat products, produced on or after August 6, 2024, meet China's requirements for export.

According to the latest data released by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), the U.S. exported a total of 1.214 million tons of pork from January to June 2024, reflecting a 4% increase compared to 1.17 million tons during the same period last year. Among these, the U.S. exported 62,000 tons of pork to China, a significant decrease of 37% compared to 98,000 tons during the same period last year.
