Last year, the import volume of Boston lobster (Homarus americanus) hit a record high. According to comprehensive data from Canada and the United States, China imported 37,911 tons of American lobsters in 2023, an increase of 21% over the previous year, valued at 663 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 26%. The import volume of live lobsters reached 33,974 tons, accounting for nearly 90%.

In 2023, Canada exported 24,491 tons of live lobsters to China, representing a 6% increase, valued at 3.90 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 12%; the United States exported 9,483 tons, representing a 34% increase, with an export value of 1.79 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 16%.
