On February 9, 2023, Singapore urgently reported the first case of African swine fever to the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH). On February 27th, GACC and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs jointly issued a ban on all permits for importing pigs and pig products from Singapore. On February 13, 2023, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China reported to WOAH that there was an African swine fever outbreak in Hong Kong. In addition to the above Hong Kong report, there are 18 provinces across China that have experienced ASF again, with production capacity damaged in Liaoning, Shandong, Hebei, and Shanxi. ASF vaccines are expected to be available as early as October.
