
According to index released by China’s Ministry of Agriculture, from 9th Dec to 15th Dec, pork prices have dropped by 3.6% compared with the previous week, beef prices dropped by 0.1%, but lamb prices increased by 0.3%. The main reasons are the government’s consistent release of reserved meat to the market, weak demand in pork due to wide Covid infection and pig farmers’ urgent slaughtering of their pigs out of fear of continuing price plunge.
