As the weather turns cooler, the production of meat and poultry is improved. The Mid-Autumn Festival and the 7-day National Day holiday have boosted consumption. But after the two festivals, consumption is expected to experience a seasonal low period. Spiked by the feed cost, poultry price is expected to continue to operate at a high level. But the extent of poultry price increase will become mitigated due to the recent slow-down of pork price increase. The month-on-month increase of poultry price has shrunk by 0.8% in August compared to July. Driven by strong international demand, global poultry exports have increased significantly. According to GACC, China’s poultry import volume in July was 119200 tons, up 0.6% month-on-month, down 20.0% year-on-year, and the import value was 397 million US dollars, up 9.7% month-on-month, up 9.6% year-on-year. In the foreseeable term, poultry prices are expected to be stable and strong.
