On 27th July 2022, a cold chain van loaded with 21 MT of frozen beef originated in Belarus entered China from Ala shankou Highway Port in Xinjiang Province. After completing routine entry procedure, this batch of products entered Ala Shankou Comprehensive Protection Zone to go through customs clearance, Covid inspection and quarantine. Statistics show that since the normalization of cold chain products import in Ala Shankou Port, there has been 310.6 MT of frozen product (mainly frozen beef and chicken paws) entering China via this port with the total value of 1.26 million USD.

Belarus is an important country along the Belt and Road Initiative path. Belarus enjoys advanced husbandry industry and its premium-quality meat products are highly favored by Chinese consumers. The increased volume of cold chain goods entering China via Ala Shankou Port will bring Chinese consumers closer to Belarusian beef.
